Arvind Kejriwal is 'unique CM' who focuses on 'allegations, conspiracy theories': BJP

Arvind Kejriwal is 'unique CM' who focuses on 'allegations, conspiracy theories': BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday went hammer and tongs at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal, saying he is a 'unique' chief minister who doesn't do any work besides focussing on 'allegations and conspiracy theories from morning till night.'
The comments from the saffron party come a day after Kejriwal sacked Minister of Child Welfare and Social Justice Sandeep Kumar after receiving 'objectionable' Compact Disk (CD) against him.
"The reasons questions are asked from Arvind Kejriwal and his party is because they are the ones who set the standards and may be his promises that 'we will ensure that we do a complete analysis, a background check and bring the finest of people into politics'," BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli told ANI.
"And when the opposite has happened, they sack their own party members. Look at for what their ministers have been sacked-one with a forged degree, another one in a corruption case and now somebody in a sex scandal.Read more

How PM Modi snubbed Sangh Parivar on Mother Teresa canonization

How PM Modi snubbed Sangh Parivar on Mother Teresa canonization

The Vatican had invited Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi to attend the Pope Francis-led open-air mass on September 4 where Mother Teresa is to be canonised as a Catholic saint. Sections in the Sangh Parivar didn’t want any Indian government representation at the mass, and some even initiated an online petition in which it called Mother Teresa a “soul harvester” who proselytised the poor.
According to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) sources, the PM snubbed the Sangh Parivar by deciding that India is represented at a senior level at the mass. While he himself couldn’t go ostensibly as the Egyptian president will be on a state visit to India from September 1 to 3 and also because of domestic political events, he decided that External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj should lead a delegation to represent India government at the mass. Swaraj is number three in the council of ministers after the PM and Home Minister Rajnath Singh. The delegation also includes BJP’s Christian leaders like its Deputy Chief Minister in Goa Francis D’Souza and K J Alphons.
The Sangh Parivar’s views on Mother Teresa are well known, most recently voiced in February 2015 by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat at an event in Alwar, Rajasthan. There, Bhagwat insinuated that in the name of service, Mother Teresa converted people to Christianity.(more)

AAP suffers a blow after infighting in Punjab

AAP suffers a blow after infighting in Punjab

After gaining substantial ground in Punjab politics during the past few months, the Aam Admi Party has suffered a blow as senior party leaders have been accusing each other of corruption in ticket distribution.
Assembly elections are expected in Punjab in early 2017 and AAP has announced the names of 32 candidates in two separate lists. According to sources, 25 of 32 candidates delared so far have been facing opposition within the party. The total number of assembly constituencies in Punjab is 117.
AAP leaders from Punjab and other states have accused Punjab Convener of Aam Admi Party, Succha Singh Chottepur of accepting a cash amount of Rs 2 lakh to grant candidature, in a reported video sting operation.
The troubles of the AAP in Punjab have been multiplied with the removal of AAP's Punjab Convener Succha Singh Chottepur as the clashes between pro- and anti-Kejriwal supporters have been reported from different places in Punjab and his counter-attack on Delhi coterie has brought to the fore the tussle for power within the party.
This is not the first time that the allegations have been raised by the party leaders against their colleagues. Lakhwinder Kaur, Joint Secretary of women wing of the party has also accused senior AAP leaders Sanjay Singh and Durgesh Pathak, of asking for Rs 50 lakh as a donation to party fund. Hillary Clinton told 'so many lies' on emails: Donald Trump

Hillary Clinton told 'so many lies' on emails: Donald Trump

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has tweeted a video accusing his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton of "so many lies" about her use of a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state.
The minute-long video shows Clinton making various statements, all of which are rebutted by text below, even as an animated face of the Democratic nominee steadily keeps growing a longer nose.
"I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email. There is no classified material," Clinton is quoted as saying in the video.
"She did [and] there is," the text at the bottom of the video screen reads.
"I am confident that I never sent nor received any information that was classified," Clinton says, while the text notes: "she did."
"I had not sent classified material, nor received anything marked classified," she adds in a third segment, again appearing above the phrase "she did."
The minute-long video concludes with the FBI Director James Comey detailing how Clinton used her private email server while at the State Department.
"110 emails in 52 email chains have been determined by the owning agency to contain classified information. Seven email chains contain matters that were classified at the top secret special access program at the time they were sent and received," he says.(more)

What to do when WhatsApp 'shares' your number with Facebook

What to do when WhatsApp 'shares' your number with Facebook

WhatsApp on Thursday announced it would be sharing information such as users’ phone numbers with Facebook. This, the messaging app claimed, was "to coordinate more and improve experiences across our services and those of Facebook and the Facebook family".
What this essentially means is that WhatsApp would share with Facebook your phone number, some details about your handset and the last time you were “seen”, among others. What it would mean, according to information available on WhatsApp’s website, is one would get WhatsApp alerts of stuff such as bank transactions, flights, a courier being dispatched, or the shoes you ordered online — alerts we generally receive via text messages.
But there’s a third category as well: Yes, marketing messages, or what we commonly refer to as spam. Since, WhatsApp has for the first time allowed businesses to open accounts, thus expect to be hit with a barrage of messages from X,Y or Z company. While WhatsApp has said there won’t be third-party banner ads, it would be small solace if your data (that is interests, friends, their interests etc) are mined to hit you with targeted ads, a la Facebook.Read more
